Patina on Electroformed Copper

I've been experimenting with patinas.  I tried Liver of Sulfur on copper but wasn't wild about the colors I got, so I purchased some Jax patinas.  I definitely like them better.  The Brown patina gives a color similar to the brown on purchased "Antique Copper" findings.  Here are the before and after pics of my Madonna pendant experiment.

  1. Very nice. I love shiny copper but the patina gives a much softer look to your pendant and seem to "frame" it!

  2. Thanks, Carolyn. I love shiny copper too but the electroformed stuff is REALLY pink. This was my first try with the brown patina. Next time I think I'll rub off a little more.

  3. Oh, I love what is happening here!! Thank you so much for sharing with us as you go along. You are not only very talented, but a generous and excellent teacher.

When you get your technique down, maybe some classes????? Hhummm? Pretty Please???? :-)

  4. Thank you, Ellie. I'll keep the class idea in mind although the need for specialized equipment might make that difficult since I don't sell kits and the chemicals. And it takes at least an hour and often longer to plate a single item. We'll see.
